Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel: Review

If you have really dry skin, then this review is for you! I've tried high end and drugstore moisturizers, but I didn't love them enough to repurchase or use them up.
For example, the Garnier moisturizer I did a review on: Read it here. It did help my dry skin quite a bit, but I just needed something more extreme for my skin, and a product that will keep my skin hydrated throughout the day.

So when I went to Ulta to look for a new moisturizer, I leaned towards Neutrogena because I have been obsessed with their fresh foaming cleanser. Plus, nothing else jumped out at me as I was browsing.

I'm guessing you are here because you have dry skin. If you are, you might find your new holy grail face moisturizer. They do offer 2 different versions of this moisturizer, the one I purchased is for extremely dry skin. I decided to go with the "water gel" type because it just looked so much more hydrating to me.

The product & how it performs

I've used this product for 3 months now, I always like to use a product thoroughly before doing an in depth review to really get a feel for it...

The moisturizer itself feels amazing, it is a very wet product though because it is water gel. But it is very refreshing!

It keeps my dry skin areas from flaking and patching all day. I use it religiously every morning after I wash my face and every night after washing my face. I definitely recommend washing your face well before applying the moisturizer because it makes a difference in how it works. I tried it both ways, and it is what works best. In all honesty, I was never able to put foundation or powder on my face because it would just flake and cake around my dry areas. [ Specifically between my brows, my nose and the skin under my brows ]

But since using this I've been able to wear makeup daily and not have any issues. I can go about my day without worrying about my skin flaking, with or without makeup on.

It retails for $20 at ulta, which is very affordable. You could find a cheaper moisturizer, I'm sure...but you won't regret giving this one a shot first. I have barely made a dent in mine and I've been using it for 3 months now, a little goes a long way!

Well that wraps up this review! If you would like to see me review a product leave me some suggestions in the comments below and don't forget to subscribe by email to be notified every time I publish a new post (top right corner)
