My Hair Care Favorites (Affordable)

I created a poll on twitter asking you guys what you wanted to see next, and the winner was my hair care favorites. So I am going to share with you the products I use all the time, recently discovered that I love already, and what I use them for!

First, is a product I have been using for about three years now. I re-purchase it every time I am almost out. Meet, the Fantasia Frizz Buster...

I am not exaggerating when I say that I refuse to straighten my hair without this product. It keeps my hair from frizzing and becoming an afro while I straighten my hair because I do have wavy/curly hair. Also, it makes my hair so smooth and silky...I will NEVER give this product up. When using this product, you only need a little tiny drop for each section of hair you are going to straighten. I find it works best if you section out your hair like you normally would, and apply right before you are going to straighten each strand. I have tested it another way, which was applying it on all of my hair at one time, and it didn't work as well as the other way. I recommend this product to anyone struggling with frizzy dry hair that is hard to straighten!

Next, is coconut oil!...

I only apply this once in a while when my hair is extremely frizzy when I am trying to curl my hair without a curling iron. I do have wavy/curly hair so I use a diffuser and a couple other products to enhance my curls. When I notice that my hair is frizzy right after washing it, I apply this all over my hair, while getting the least amount as possible on my roots because that will weigh my hair down and make it flat.

My next favorite product is by "Not your mothers" and it is a hair lifter...

This is a sample size bottle by the way, that is why it's so tiny. The actual size bottles are about the size of a mousse bottle. I use this product normally after using coconut oil to give my hair a little bit more volume in the middle and bottom of my hair when I am curling it. It makes my hair pretty soft and nice while still holding the shape. It does not get stiff or anything like a hairspray, its more like a liquid mousse I guess. The bottle does say for thin hair, and my hair is not even close to being thin. I have very thick heavy hair, and it works amazingly!

After using the coconut oil, and hair lifter...I like to go in with a little bit of Suave extra hold shaping mousse if my hair is still not the way I want it to be before diffusing my hair....

Now, when I use too much of this product it definitely weighs my hair down a little bit. So, I like to start with a small amount and add more if needed. I don't use it all the time because sometimes on good hair days I don't need it. I also find that if I end up not using the mousse and just use coconut oil along with the "Not your mothers" product above, I can go longer without washing my hair. Since I have a very dry scalp, my head gets very itchy if I use hairspray or mousse and I can only last two days without washing my hair. Ideally, I like to wash my hair every 3-4 days.

When I necessarily need hairspray...I like to use Aussie's sprunch hairspray..

Like I said before, I don't like to use hairspray all the time. I only use it when I have a "hair emergency" and my hair is not cooperating. But this hairspray is my favorite, it smells amazing and keeps my hair in place.

And, my last hair care favorite is....

This new combination from Tresemme, Beauty-full volume reverse wash. I recieved this for free from influenster, and I haven't put it down ever since. Well, technically I have...but you get the point. I can see and feel the difference in my hair since using this product. My hair is so much more manageable, and definitely gives my hair more volume then I haven't had for years.

That wraps up my hair care favorites! As you can see, I dont use very many products on my hair. Once I found these products in this post, it has been easier and pleasurable to do my hair everyday.
